The approach

Your own instructor.
A whole team behind you.

The structure and support you want from a flight school, with the flexibility of independent instructors in a flying club.

01 / CONTINUITY

Life happens.
Your plan carries forward.

When your primary instructor is unavailable, we coordinate with other CFIs in the club to help keep training rolling. A clear handoff helps the next instructor understand your progress and the next lesson.

Coverage is coordinated around instructor qualifications, aircraft, and availability.

02 / PREPARATION

Good resources.
Less guesswork.

Training materials, planning tools, and checkride preparation resources give you direction between lessons. We help you connect what you study on the ground to what you do in the airplane.

03 / COMMUNITY

People make
the difference.

Learn alongside people working toward their own aviation goals. Peer support, shared questions, and access to fellow instructors make training feel less like something you have to figure out alone.

Your first point of contact

Meet James.
Meet Ella.

Start with a conversation about your goals, your schedule, and what good training looks like for you.

CFI / CFII / MEI

Ella

Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI), CFI, and CFII in the San Diego area, with support from fellow instructors and a community invested in your progress.

Our network goes
beyond the two of us.

We work with other CFIs in Plus One Flyers to coordinate coverage and share support. You keep a primary point of contact while gaining access to a wider instructor community when you need it.

A straightforward first step

Let’s build
your training plan.

You don’t need all the answers before reaching out. Bring your goals and questions; we’ll work through the next steps together.

01 / CONNECT

Tell us your goals.

Talk with James or Ella about your experience, timeline, schedule, and what you want to get out of flying.

02 / PREPARE

Get a clear starting point.

Review the club’s joining process, training prerequisites, current costs, and the resources you’ll need.

03 / BUILD

Train with a plan.

Set your next lesson, prepare between flights, and coordinate instructor support as your training progresses.

Understand the full cost before you commit. Aircraft rental, instructor time, and club fees are separate items. Ask for current rates and a realistic plan for your goals.

Your next step starts here

Come for
the flying.
Stay for
the community.

Tell us a little about yourself. We’ll help you find a sensible starting point and the support to keep going.
